I am a medieval historian and technologist, and am e-learning manager in the School of History at Queen Mary, University of London.\u00a0 My first academic book, on followers of the Cathar heresy in medieval France will be published in 2014.<\/p>\n
For me, writing is exciting because it is always a creative act.\u00a0 The written word is powerful wherever it is found, whether in a great novel or in an email to the phone company. The Writing Matters project is exciting to me because it allows us to share the work we\u2019ve done at QMUL, and (if we do it right) to start a wider conversation about the writing process and its importance.<\/p>\n
