The lost canon

After the stimulating discussion on biology and literature I had on the occasion of the Internet Festival, I’ll be back in Pisa next November 11 to participate in the 16th edition of the Pisa Book Festival.

Sunday 11 November morning at 10 am, in the Book Club Room, I’ll discuss with the writer Luca Ricci about the current state of Italian literature, the role of criticism, and the controversial issue of designing a contemporary canon of Italian authors. The discussion will follow-up on the publishing of my last book, Vita contro letteratura. Mine will be the last of three conversations on the “lost canon” that Luca Ricci will have with critics and scholars: on Friday 9 at 6 pm he will be in dialogue with Gianluigi Simonetti; on Saturday 10 at 3 pm he will encounter Alberto Casadei.

On the Festival’s Twitter account you can follow the literary contest that will establish the names of the Italian writers the public appreciate most. Join twit-criticism!
